Improved
Commission, split by service and retail
Salons can pay commission at different rates on services and on product sales, after charge-backs.
Salon platforms such as Shearline can now send commission as two earnings types, service and retail, each with its own rate or tiered scale. A stylist who books $1,840 of services and sells $312 of product in a period sees both lines on the paystub, each with the rate that applied.
Product charge-backs, such as the cost of the color used on a service, can be deducted before commission is calculated, as many salons already do by hand. For employees paid on commission, Payrun checks each week that pay reaches the minimum wage for the hours worked and adds a make-up line when it does not.
