Stipends that roll over
Wellness, remote and learning stipends can now carry unused amounts into the next month, up to a cap the employer sets.
A stipend is a monthly amount the employer funds for one purpose: $100 for wellness, $75 for remote work, $150 for learning. Employees submit what they spend, and the approved amount is paid with the next run as a taxable earning, on its own line of the paystub.
Until now, whatever was left at the end of the month was lost. Employers can now let it roll over, up to a cap they choose, such as three months of the stipend. The employee sees the balance and the next reset date in your app, and the stipend.balance object returns both.
Roll-over is off by default, so nothing changes for existing employers until they switch it on.
