Compliance
Prevailing wage and certified payroll
Pay crews by job classification on public works, and export the weekly certified payroll report.
Trades platforms such as Fieldcrew can now attach a project to a shift, with its wage determination: each classification, such as electrician, laborer or equipment operator, has its own base rate and fringe rate. Payrun pays the higher of the employee’s usual rate and the prevailing rate for the hours worked on that project.
The fringe can be paid in cash or credited against bona fide benefits, such as the employer’s share of medical premiums, and the paystub shows the split.
Each week, the API produces the certified payroll report in the layout of the federal form WH-347, with the statement of compliance ready to sign, for the general contractor or the contracting agency.
